The Aeronautical Society of India organised a seminar on “Sustainable Aviation Biofuel for Civil and Military Transport Aircraft: The Way Forward” with national and international speakers on the 16th Sept’22 at The Leela Palace, New Delhi.
The inaugural session was attended by the Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence & Tourism- Shri Ajay Bhatt, Dr. V. K. Saraswat- Member, NITI Aayog (Planning Commission), Govt of India, Shri A. S. Kiran Kumar, Former Chairman, ISRO, currently Advisor to ISRO & President, AeSI, Dr.G. Satheesh Reddy- Scientific Advisor to Raksha Mantri, President- Elect, AeSI, formerly Secretary, Deptt. of Defence (R&D), and Chairman, DRDO, Govt of India, & Dr.SSV Ramakumar, Director (R&D), IOCL.
Also, various dignitaries from the scientific community, Secretaries & Joint Secretaries from Govt of India, Policy makers, Regulators, International Manufacturers of Biofuel, International OEM’s (Airbus & Pratt Whitney), Academia, and Sr. functionaries from airlines (TATA Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet) were also present.
The Hon’ble Minister of State set the tone for discussions with the Govt of India initiatives in this area in his inaugural speech. He also spoke of the Govt’s intent and future road map.Following were the Guest Speakers under different sessions:
