Founded on December 27, 1948 Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the First Prime Minister of independent India, becomes the First Chief Patron of the Society.
Objectives
To promote the advancement and dissemination of knowledge of Aeronautical and Aerospace Sciences / Technologies. To strive for the elevation of Aeronautical and Aerospace profession.
Organisation
Over the years, the Society has grown into a major professional body in the field of aeronautics, aviation & aerospace. The Society has 18 branches at all the important centers of aviation in the counter viz. Agra, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kochi, Mumbai, Nasik, Nagpur, Pune, Delhi, Kanyakumari, Sunabeda & Trivuvananthapuram. G. Satheesh Reddy (born 1 July 1963) is an Indian aerospace scientist who served as the thirteenth chairman of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) from 2018 to 2022. He served as the chairman of the Governing Body of the Aeronautical Development Agency, and is Scientific Adviser to Raksha Mantri (the Minister of Defence, India). He was appointed as the member of National Security advisory board
G. Satheesh Reddy joined Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), Hyderabad in 1986, subsequently joining Research Centre Imarat (RCI) after its formation. As Director at RCI, he led the development of IR seekers, integrated avionics modules, and other innovative systems.
First working as a navigation scientist and system manager, he eventually was elevated as a Distinguished Scientist in September 2014 and was appointed as a Scientific Adviser to the Defence Minister in May 2015.
NCMDAO - 2025 is being jointly organized by Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Indian Institute of Science, CSIR - National Aerospace Laboratories, and The Aeronautical Society of India-Design Division.
